Dear Sermon Based Small Group Leaders,
Welcome to the Small Group Resources site! You can find the pdf file link to the discussion guide below. You should be able to view it, save it and print it from the preview screen that appears when you click on it. The pre-participation survey form file for new people is also available in a link below.

Below are links to the video format and audio format of the Leader Tips for this week. The content is the same as the text below it. The alternative formats are being made available for the convenience and preference of some of our leaders. Rather than read it, some may wish to watch it on their computer or phone, or listen to it in their car during the week via a bluetooth phone connection with their car stereo. Some may also find it simpler and more convenient to simply subscribe to the podcast once it is set up. Then, the audio or video will be automatically sent to the podcast app on their phone each week.

This week, we begin a new series called “World Serious: What in the world is the church doing?” starting with the message today “Persons of Interest.” The sermon videos are available in the normal location on the church website- http://www.christchurchsl.org/sermons/. Please include the discussion guide attachment and the link in a friendly personalized email to your group this week prior to your meeting time.
Leader Tip 1- A New Website For Our Small Group Leaders
If you are reading or hearing this, you must have found your way to the new small group leader resource page that I created for us- www.smallgroupleader.net. Congratulations! I’m glad you found it! Each week, copies of the the present and past Discussion Guides as well as the weekly leader tips will be placed here on the website in addition to the emails, in a variety of formats. The video and audio formats may allow us to do more with small training modules spread throughout our small group semesters that are available in a flexible timeframe for the leaders. Stay tuned for more on that in upcoming weeks…
Leader Tip 2- The Small Group Leader’s Equipping Track Schedule Change and online file and recordings
Today session 2 of the Small Group Leader’s Equipping Track, was bumped up to 4pm in the Bride’s Room because of the Church Council Potluck at 5pm in the Gathering Hall. In case you missed it, you are welcome to see the handouts and hear the audio file that will be added to a page on this site soon. Sorry the first session did not get recorded, the batteries ran out on the recorder!
Also, next weekend is Superbowl Sunday, and so the next leader’s training session will be rescheduled for the following weekend.
Leader Tip 3- Other Announcements
The pre-participation survey is attached for those who are new to the sermon based model. If you are in a new group or have a new person in your continuing group, please print out a copy to give them so that we can monitor positive change at the end of the semester.
Please be in prayer for new groups that are being attempted in the Sugar Mill area, in Riverstone and in Sienna. Some of you were in newly forming groups like this not too long ago. I am seeking to set up initial gatherings in these areas with families who are willing to come and see what it is like.
Lastly, the log-in for the new church database, Realm can be found at https://onrealm.org/christchurchsl/SignIn. Please log-in when you get a chance and be sure your contact information is correct. It is also has a phone app that can make online giving and group attendance taking very easy. It is available on the app store under a search on “realm connect.” I’ll talk more about this resource for group use in next week’s leader tips.
Thank you all for being in small group ministry!
