Dear Small Group Leaders of Christ Church,
The spiritual discipline of this week is Prayer. The discussion guide for Sunday’s message “A Life of Prayer” is available at www.smallgroupleaders.net or in the attachment for this week’s small group email. Please forward a copy to your group members with a friendly meeting reminder or other group announcements that you may have this week of spring break. Please also add the link to the sermon videos on the church website- www.christchurchsl.org/sermons for those who may have missed church on Sunday. Below is the link to the discussion guide and the leader tips of the week in the video, audio and text formats.

Leader Tip #1- Growing in Prayer
Opportunities to grow in this important spiritual discipline of prayer are presented in the discussion guide, however I will also include them here in the leader tips. There are devotionals about prayer provided in the Sunday morning handouts that are also available at www.christchurchsl.org/lentprayer. If you would like to subscribe to the devotionals in a daily email, you can sign up at www.christchurchsl.org/lent. Also, Pastor Michelle will be leading a prayer retreat at Christ Church this Saturday, Mar 17, 9-1:30pm. It is a free event that begins with breakfast at 9am and then teachings on prayer, lectio divina and intercessory prayer in the chapel beginning at 9:30. You can register at www.christchurchsl.org/lentenretreat.
Leader Tip #2- new participant follow up surveys
Remember the pre-participation surveys that were distributed at the beginning of lent? Next week, as we approach the end of lent, I will be circulating the same survey but marked “follow-up survey” on it, so those who filled out the first survey, can fill out the follow up to allow for comparison and indications of the impact that small group participation may have on their interacting with Sunday sermons and a sense of connection with the congregation. The survey with the new label will be distributed next week. Hopefully, those who listed an anonymous ID passphrase on the first survey, will remember their same passphrase to use on this next one!
May God bless you all this week as we strive to grow in our prayer life together. Next week the theme will be reading scripture, and the following week is praise on Palm Sunday. Thanks for sharing in this Lenten season of growth in the spiritual disciplines as a community! Keep on keeping on!
